About

Cavan Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is a local charity and member society of the ISPCA.

We are a small group of volunteers who work throughout county Cavan, investigating animal welfare, complaints of cruelty, neglect and abuse.

We are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week throughout the entire year.  We rescue, care, spay and neuter and provide veterinary treatment when necessary before finding suitable new homes for the animals we take in.

As we do not have shelter facilities we rely on some of our members to take the animals into their own homes until suitable new homes can be found for them.  We are always looking for new foster carers.

We rely heavily on fund raising and the generosity of the general public to sustain us in the work we do.

We also produce a calendar every year with photographs of pets that the public send to us through a photo competition run for us by the Anglo Celt. It will be on sale in the local shops in November, please look out for it.

We are always looking for new members to help with fund raising ideas and events, putting up posters, bucket shakes and with many other jobs that help to keep funds coming in to continue helping animals in Cavan.  If you would like to become a member or if you would like to help us with fund raising events we meet on the last Wednesday of every month in The Kilmore Hotel, Dublin Road, Cavan at 8.30pm.

We now have a charity shop on Thomas Ashe Street, Cavan town (mint green shop front) where donations of money, items for the animals and resalable belongings can be left and wonderful items can be purchased at great prices.

If you would like to make a donation to Cavan SPCA you can transfer money directly into our PayPal account using the PayPal button on this site or by using the email address cavanspca@gmail.com or transfer money to our  bank account: Ulster Bank, Sort Code: 98-54-50, Account Number: 10018338.

Thank you very much without donations we cannot continue our work!
